A Confidential Space. An Independent Perspective. A Coach Who's Entirely on Your Side

I work with professionals navigating the parts of work that are hard to talk about with a manager, a colleague, or an employer. Whether you’re finding leadership harder than you expected, feeling overlooked, or simply not sure what your next move should be, coaching offers a confidential and reflective space to think things through and find a way forward.

My approach is grounded in psychology and business and leadership expertise, built on collaboration, and always focused on what matters to you.

How I Can Help

I work with professionals and business leaders across a range of leadership and career challenges. Here’s where most clients start.

Leadership & Executive Coaching

Developing the clarity, confidence, and self-awareness to lead effectively in complex, changing environments. We work on leadership challenges, presence, workplace dynamics, and creating the conditions for you and those around you to do your best work.

EQ Coaching

Emotional intelligence underpins effective leadership. EQ Coaching helps you understand and work with your emotions, strengthen professional relationships, and communicate with authenticity and empathy.

Career Transition Coaching

Change brings both uncertainty and opportunity. Independent, confidential, one-to-one coaching helps you navigate career transitions with clarity and a renewed sense of direction for what comes next.

What to Expect

A Clear Starting Point

We begin by agreeing what you want to focus on, at a pace and cost that works for you.

Creative & Safe Space

Sessions are entirely confidential. It’s a space to think freely, explore ideas, and be honest with yourself. There ‘are no reports’ to your organisation and no agenda other than yours.

Respectful & Collaborative

I’ll ask the right questions, offer perspective, and walk alongside you, so that the direction you choose is genuinely yours and meets your needs.

Why Work with an Independent Coach?

Sometimes the most useful perspective is one that has nothing to do with your organisation.

I’m Ann Todd, a psychologist and business coach with strong experience in leading significant change, leadership, including in intra- and inter-organisational teams, and organisational consulting. I work independently of the employer with professionals and business leaders who want a thinking partner entirely on their side.

It’s about more than performance; it’s about creating the conditions for you to thrive.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Ann for over two decades now. Our partnership emerged via the IQEQ Network back in 2005, when I was at Disney and later at ASOS. Ann brought a new perspective and way of thinking about the world through her professional expertise in change and her application. Our partnership at that time was engaging, inspirational, open to learning (from both sides) and grounded in authenticity and impact. I always walked away, feeling safely held, with greater curiosity and a different way of viewing a situation after our thought-provoking dialogue. We maintained and evolved our connection, as I moved internationally. Over time, I have trusted Ann with personal matters which benefited from an unbiased, objective opinion, which I am hugely grateful for. It has been an absolute joy.

Peter Collyer

Strategic HR Leader, Chief of People, Former Disney & ASOS

Ann worked with me online when I was considering next steps in my career. I found her experienced view – and support – invaluable and she helped me to really think through what my next steps should be and how I might get there. I felt Ann understood where I was at and cared about the outcome. I have since transitioned into a new role.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Leadership and Management Coaching?

Leadership and Management Coaching is a structured, one-to-one process that helps professionals and business leaders thrive through navigate the challenges of leading and managing at work. It builds self-awareness, confidence, and practical strategies for moving forward, without the conflicts of interest that come with employer-led support.

How Is Coaching Different From Mentoring or Therapy?

Coaching is forward-looking and goal-focused, helping you identify patterns and possibilities. Mentoring offers advice based on expertise and experience. Therapy addresses emotional or clinical concerns, usually delving into past unhappy experiences to understand the present.

Who is Coaching For?

Professionals at any stage of their career who are navigating management or leadership challenges, considering a career transition, or looking to develop their Emotional Intelligence (EQ). Many of Ann’s clients come independently, rather than through their employer, because they want support that is genuinely on their side.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

This depends on your goals. Most clients begin with a discovery session and move into an agreed block of five sessions, adding more as needed. You are in control of the pace, format, and duration. Sessions are available online or face to face.

How Do I Get Started?

The first step is a free introductory conversation with Ann. There’s no commitment required. It’s simply a chance to talk through where you are, ask any questions, and explore whether coaching feels like the right fit.
